To install the extra header jack your door up to correct the sag and bolt in the beam. Push the new header into place. We have an old cinder block garage shed building built in 1967 with 2 9 foot wide garage door openings. When a garage door lintel fails it causes the brick wall being supported to sag leaving a noticeable crack right above the garage door. By using a steel beam there is less chance of a re occurrence in the sag. Take some 2x4 s and use these to add 3 rows of supporting frames around the sides of the door and just below the header.
